"mateReco" is a comprehensive brand of Komatsu Matere Group's sustainable fabrics and products made from environmentally friendly raw materials and manufactured using processing techniques that have a minimal environmental impact.
MATERIAL
Raw materials
Environmentally friendly raw material selection
We use environmentally friendly raw materials, such as recycled and naturally-derived bio thread.
(In accordance with international standards such as GRS, the blending ratio should be at least 20%.)
- Raw material name
- Feature
- Recycled thread
- This thread is made by melting down used plastic bottles and fiber scraps from making threads.
- Biofilament
- This is made by replacing some of the raw materials with plant-derived materials. PTT composite fiber, whose raw materials are partly plant-derived, is one such fiber.
(e.g., Toray Industries, Inc./T400, Teijin Limited/Solotex) - Regenerated fiber
- Triacetate (mainly made from wood pulp), rayon (recycled cellulose fiber from cotton cylinders), and others.
- Natural fibers
- Cotton and hemp derived from plants, wool (sheep wool) and silk derived from animals, and basalt fiber derived from minerals.
*Basalt fiber is made by melting basalt, a natural material, in a blast furnace, which is
then extruded and spun. It is characterized by heat resistance and high strength.
PROCESS
Manufacturing process
An eco-friendly and highly functional processing technology
We provide environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and raw material
(dyes, chemicals, and resins)
- Brand name
- Feature
- Dyeing time can be significantly reduced, and energy and CO2 emissions required for the dyeing process can be reduced.
- Using a moisture-permeable waterproof film made from polyurethane with a plant-derived content of 50% reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 50% compared to conventional products.
- Using a moisture-permeable and waterproof coating made from polyurethane with a plant-derived ratio of 50% reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 50% compared to conventional products.
- This environmentally-friendly fabric is made from ingredients extracted from onion skins and various natural raw materials that are normally discarded.
- This environmentally-friendly fabric uses a solvent-free, water-based acrylic coating agent.
- Using a thin-film coating made from polyurethane with a plant-derived content of 50% reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 50% compared to conventional products.
- Super-durable water-repellent fabric that does not contain fluorine compounds.
- This hemp-like fabric is made of hemp powder, a byproduct of hemp fiber spinning.
It contributes to the reduction of final product loss and waste.
